Volleyball Uniform Size Chart
Custom volleyball uniforms are made to order, so they cannot be swapped like off-the-shelf gear. This guide gives you the jersey and shorts size charts, shows you exactly how to measure, and explains how a Capra kit fits, so you size your team right the first time and nobody waits on a remake mid-season.
How do you measure for a volleyball uniform?
Measure a jersey and a pair of shorts that already fit the player, laid flat and smooth, in inches — not the body. A jersey uses two numbers, chest and length; shorts use waist and inseam. Match those flat measurements to the charts below to pick each player’s size.
Jersey

Chest: straight across, 1″ below the armhole (the flat half-chest used in the chart). Length: highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
Shorts

Waist: across the top of the relaxed waistband, edge to edge (double it for the full waistband). Inseam: crotch seam straight down to the hem.
Volleyball Jersey Size Chart
Capra volleyball jerseys come in two cuts. Compression is the standard competition fit, cut close to the body so it stays put through a dig. Dri-fit is the same garment cut with room — about 1.5″ more across the flat chest and half an inch longer. Measure the flat chest one inch below the armhole and the length from the shoulder’s high point to the hem, then match the closest row in whichever cut you are ordering.

Chest is the flat half-chest, measured 1″ below the armhole — double it for the full chest. Sleeveless, cap sleeve and short sleeve share these measurements; only the sleeve changes.
Volleyball Shorts Size Chart
Volleyball shorts are a compression garment — there is no loose cut in the range, because a loose short is a basketball short. Measure the flat waist across the relaxed waistband and the inseam from the crotch seam to the hem, then match the chart. Inseam is a style choice rather than a fixed rule: 3″, 4″ and 5″ are all available, and most school and club programs ask for 4″ or 5″.

|---|---|---|

Waist is the flat measurement across the relaxed waistband. Volleyball shorts have an elastic waist, so they fit a range around each number. The inseam shown is our standard for each size.
How should a volleyball kit fit?
The compression jersey is meant to sit close. It should stay flat against the body when a player reaches overhead and it should not ride up on a dig — that is the whole reason the cut exists. If a player wants room to move rather than a second-skin fit, order the dri-fit cut in the same size rather than sizing up in compression; sizing up in compression gives you a loose garment that still has a compression neckline and armhole.
Shorts should sit at the natural waist and stay there without being pulled down over the hip. The elastic waistband covers a range, so the flat waist number is a centre point, not a hard limit. Inseam is about coverage, not fit — a 5″ short fits exactly like a 3″ short in the same size.
Because every kit is custom-sublimated to order, sizes can’t be exchanged after production, so confirm each player against the chart (or a real sizing sample) before you submit the roster. Building a full kit with warm-ups and bags? See our volleyball team packages.
How should coaches size a whole team?
Sizing a roster goes fastest when you measure once and write it down as you go, then sanity-check the edge cases. Four rules keep volleyball teams out of trouble:
Volleyball sizing FAQ
Is there an order minimum?
Team orders start at a 10-piece minimum. You can order a single sample first to check fit and quality before you commit the whole roster.
Are these body measurements or garment measurements?
Garment measurements, taken with the uniform laid flat. To compare to a player, measure a jersey or shorts that already fit them the same way, or measure the body and halve a full chest or waist to compare against the flat number.
What is the difference between the compression and dri-fit jersey?
The same jersey cut two ways. Compression is the standard competition fit, close to the body. Dri-fit is cut with roughly 1.5″ more across the flat chest and half an inch more length, for players who want room to move. Both use the same size labels, so a WM is a WM in either cut — check you are reading the right block of the chart.
Which inseam should we order?
We make volleyball shorts in a 3″, 4″ and 5″ inseam. Most school and club programs specify 4″ or 5″. Inseam does not change the fit through the waist and hip, only the coverage on the leg, so the whole team can share one inseam whatever their size.
Do you make men’s and boys’ volleyball uniforms?
Yes. The charts above cover our women’s and girls’ blocks, which is what most volleyball programs order. For a men’s or boys’ team, send us your roster and we will size it against our adult and youth blocks.
Can you do custom sizes?
Yes. If a player falls outside the chart, send us their flat measurements and we will cut to fit.
Can my players try sizes before we order?
Two ways. Order a free sample — the sample is free and you only cover shipping (a straight passthrough cost). Or get the full sizing kit with every size on a $200 deposit that is fully refunded when you return the kit.
