Custom football uniforms are made to order, so they cannot be swapped like off-the-shelf gear. This guide shows you exactly how to measure your team jerseys and pants and how a Capra uniform fits, so you size your roster right the first time and nobody waits on a remake mid-season.
How do you measure for a football uniform?
Measure a jersey and a pair of pants that already fit the player, laid flat and smooth, in inches — not the body. A jersey uses two numbers, chest and length; pants use waist and length. Match those flat measurements to the charts below to pick each player’s size.
Jersey
Chest: straight across, 1″ below the armhole (the flat chest used in the chart). Length: highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
Pant
Waist: across the top of the waistband, edge to edge (double it for the full waistband). Length: from the top of the waistband straight down the side to the hem.
Football Jersey Size Chart
Capra football jerseys come in Youth and Adult cuts. Measure the flat chest one inch below the armhole and the length from the shoulder’s high point to the hem, then match the closest row. Between two sizes, size up for growing youth players and over pads; stay true to chart for a fitted adult cut.

Football Pant Size Chart
Capra football pants have an integrated or belt-loop waist depending on the build. Measure the flat waist across the top of the waistband and the length from the top of the waistband down the side to the hem, then match the chart. Football pants are cut to sit over pads, so confirm the fit if a player wears bulky hip or thigh protection.

How should a football uniform fit?
Capra football jerseys are cut close so they don’t get grabbed in play, and they sit over shoulder pads — so size to the pads, not just the body. Youth and Adult jerseys run true to the chart. Pants are built to cover hip, thigh and knee pads with an integrated or slotted pad system depending on the build.

Sizing a roster goes fastest when you measure once and write it down as you go, then sanity-check the edge cases. Three rules keep teams out of trouble:

Is there an order minimum?
Team orders start at a 10-piece minimum. You can order a single sample first to check fit and quality before you commit the whole roster.
Are these body measurements or garment measurements?
Garment measurements, taken with the uniform laid flat. To compare to a player, measure a jersey or pant that already fits them the same way, or measure the body and halve a full chest or waist to compare against the flat number.
Do I size over pads?
Yes. Football jerseys and pants sit over pads, so measure the player wearing their shoulder and hip pads, or send us the pad dimensions and we will help.
Can my players try sizes before we order?
