Track & Field Compression Uniform Size Chart

Custom track & field compression uniforms are made to order, so they cannot be swapped like off-the-shelf gear. This guide gives you the compression singlet and shorts size charts, shows you exactly how to measure, and explains how a Capra compression kit fits, so you size your team right the first time and nobody waits on a remake mid-season.

Read this first: every number below is a flat garment measurement — the uniform laid flat and measured edge to edge, not around the body. A 13″ flat waist is about a 26″ waistband once it goes around. A flat number is not a body number — that mismatch is the most common cause of a wrong order.

How do you measure for a track & field uniform?

Measure a compression singlet and a pair of compression shorts that already fit the athlete, laid flat and smooth, in inches — not the body. The singlet uses two numbers, chest and length; the shorts use waist and inseam. Match those flat measurements to the charts below to pick each athlete’s size.

Animated guide showing how to measure a track and field singlet (chest, length) and shorts (waist, inseam), flat and in inches

Compression Singlet

How to measure a track and field compression singlet: chest 1 inch below the armhole, length shoulder to hem

1. Chest: straight across, 1″ below the armhole (the flat half-chest used in the chart). 2. Length: highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.

Compression Shorts

How to measure track and field shorts: waist across the relaxed waistband, inseam crotch to hem

1. Waist: across the top of the relaxed waistband, edge to edge (double it for the full waistband). 2. Inseam: crotch seam straight down to the hem.

Track & Field Compression Singlet Size Chart

Capra track & field compression singlets come in Youth Boys, Girls, Adult/Men’s and Women’s cuts and fit close to the body. Measure the flat chest one inch below the armhole and the length from the shoulder’s high point to the hem, then match the closest row. For a true compression fit, size to the chart; if an athlete is between sizes, size down for tighter compression or up for a slightly looser feel.

Track & Field Compression Shorts Size Chart

Capra track & field compression shorts have a snug elastic waistband, so each size covers a small range. Measure the flat waist across the relaxed waistband (double it for the full waistband) and the inseam from the crotch seam to the hem, then match the chart. Note compression shorts run a shorter inseam than basketball or soccer shorts.

Waist is the flat measurement across the relaxed waistband. Compression shorts have a snug elastic waistband, so they fit a range around each number.

How should a track & field uniform fit?

Capra track & field uniforms are compression garments, cut to fit close to the body rather than loose like a casual tee. Youth and Adult singlets run athletic and true to the chart; the Women’s cut is shaped a little narrower through the body with a slightly shorter length. Athletes who want extra coverage can wear a base layer underneath as your team prefers.

Because every kit is custom-sublimated to order, sizes can’t be exchanged after production, so confirm each athlete against the chart (or a real sizing sample) before you submit the roster. Ready to build your team’s look? Get a free mockup.

How should coaches size a whole team?

Sizing a roster goes fastest when you measure once and write it down as you go, then sanity-check the edge cases. Three rules keep teams out of trouble:

Between two sizes? Size to the chart for a true compression fit; size down for tighter compression, or up for a slightly looser feel.
Mixed-age teams. Do not assume the whole roster is one category, confirm youth vs adult athlete by athlete.
Write it down. Record each size next to the athlete name, event, and name spelling on the order sheet.

Track & field sizing FAQ

Is there an order minimum?

Team orders start at a 10-piece minimum. You can order a single sample first to check fit and quality before you commit the whole roster.

Are these body measurements or garment measurements?

Garment measurements, taken with the uniform laid flat. To compare to an athlete, measure a singlet or shorts that already fit them the same way, or measure the body and halve a full chest or waist to compare against the flat number.

Can you do custom sizes?

Yes. If an athlete falls outside the chart, send us their flat measurements and we will cut to fit.

Can my athletes try sizes before we order?

Two ways. Order a free sample — the sample is free and you only cover shipping (a straight passthrough cost). Or get the full sizing kit with every size from YXS to A2XL on a $200 deposit that is fully refunded when you return the kit.
