How to Wash Sublimated Jerseys (and Keep Them Looking New)
Custom sublimated jerseys are built to last, but a few simple habits keep your team’s colors sharp for seasons. Here is how to wash and care for sublimated jerseys the right way.
The good news: sublimated jerseys cannot crack or peel, so the care is mostly about protecting the fabric, not the print.
Wash cold, inside out
Turn jerseys inside out and wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. This protects the fabric and any stitched details.
Skip the harsh stuff
No bleach and no fabric softener. Softener coats the fibers and reduces moisture-wicking; bleach can damage the fabric.
Air dry when you can
Hang or lay flat to dry. If you must use a dryer, use low or no heat: high heat is the main enemy of athletic fabric over time.
Never iron the design
Do not iron directly on the print or logo. If needed, iron inside out on low heat.
Why the print never fades
Because sublimation bonds the ink into the fabric, the colors will not crack or peel like screen print or vinyl, so with basic care your gear looks new for years.
